I'm looking for: how to answer it (with examples)
By the bestsideofyou teamLast updated
“I'm looking for” is the place to be clear about what you want, so say it plainly and then make it specific. One concrete picture of the relationship you want (a habit, a weekend, a small moment) beats a list of qualities. Clear and warm attracts the right people and saves everyone time.
What this prompt reveals about you
What you want, and how you think about relationships. A specific answer shows you've thought about it and know yourself. It also filters: the people who light up at your picture are the ones you want messaging you.

A person who reads the group chat but doesn't need to reply. Also something serious. Both, ideally.
Something real. I'm done with three weeks of texting and no plan. If you like me, ask me to dinner.
Someone who wants to build small traditions. Mine so far: pancakes on rainy Saturdays. Room for more.

My next long relationship. I'm ready, I have a spare toothbrush, and I make a very good breakfast.
Someone who calls their friends back and tips well. I think the rest follows from that.
A person with a library card and opinions about it. Serious only. I've already reserved the next book.
Common mistakes
Someone kind, funny and honest.

A list of qualities describes everyone's ideal. Show what those qualities look like.
My partner in crime.
Someone who wants to try the new Ethiopian place and then argue about who ate more injera.

Something steady. I'm not in a rush, but I'm not here to collect pen pals either.
Vague answers attract vague matches. Say what you want, even if it's gentle.

- We'll get along if
- Something that's non-negotiable for me is

Questions people ask
Should I say if I want something serious?
Yes, if you do. Being clear tends to attract people who want the same thing.
How do I avoid sounding like a checklist?
Pick one quality and describe it as a moment. One picture beats five adjectives.
Is this prompt too heavy?
Not if it's warm and specific. A light detail keeps it friendly.
